Notably, the Congress has been taking its winning candidates to Chandigarh, where they are expected to hold a meeting and discuss the next step of the party. The latest seat position in Himachal Pradesh is given below.

The Congress Party won 40, the BJP bagged 25 seats, and the independents won three seats.

The Congress party has been sniffing victory in Himachal Pradesh. It is positive news for the grand old party, which has lost its significance across the country. The ruling BJP has been giving a tough fight.

Currently, the Congress Party leads in 40 seats, while the BJP leads in 25, and others are leading in three constituencies. It seems the Congress is likely to unseat the BJP in the hill state. But, as in cricket, uncertainty always looms in politics. The figure may change within an hour.

The counting of votes has been underway for the Himachal Pradesh election of 2022. The result for the 68 seats will be declared later this evening. The BJP and the Congress lock horns in this searing battle. As the exit poll predicted, it would be a close tussle. Things are progressing in this way, and the Congress is slowly but surely inching closer to gaining Himachal Pradesh again.

The winning party needs to bag 35 seats to cross the line with a clean majority. In the previous elections held in 2017, the BJP won 44 seats, the Congress bagged 21, the CPI-M emerged winner on one seat, and independent candidates wrested two seats.
