Pakistan’s left arm quick Mohammad Amir has picked Virat Kohli as his favorite batsmen over Joe Root, Steven Smith and Kane Williamson during a chat session on Twitter. When he was asked to pick his favorite batsman among the four he went on to say: “They all are but personally Virat kohli.”
In the Champions Trophy final his destructive spell got the better of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli early in the innings which eventually took out the creamy layer from the Indian batting line up and Team India fell 180 runs short of the target.
There have been numerous instances where Amir and Kohli have shared mutual respect and admiration for each other and still they continue to do so. Earlier, Kohli had praised Amir for his comeback in the cricketing world after he was accused with the charges of match fixing, he even gifted him a bat during the India-Pakistan match at the Eden Gardens last year.
Amir also revealed that it was a moment of great delight when he took the wicket of cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar in his first ever Champions Trophy in 2009.
