Noida police have arrested three individuals, including a woman, in connection with the murder of 57-year-old contractor Shashi Sharma. The victim was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with the wife of the main accused, Bharat Chauhan, who had been on good terms with Sharma until two years ago.
Sharma’s lifeless body was discovered inside his rented accommodation in Janata Flats, Sector 40, on Monday morning. The presence of injury marks around his neck raised suspicions of foul play, leading the police to investigate the case as a murder.
According to DCP (Noida) Harish Chander, investigations revealed that Bharat Chauhan and Sharma had become acquainted in 2021 when they lived in the same neighborhood. However, a contentious incident occurred that year when Bharat caught Sharma and his wife in a compromising situation at his house. Following this, Sharma relocated to another residence. Recently, Bharat learned that his wife was still in contact with Sharma. Confronting his wife, she apologized for her actions.
During this time, Bharat had started a tea shop and befriended Raja Tiwari, a student at a private university in Noida, who frequented Bharat’s stall. The two became friends, and Bharat shared his grievances about Sharma with Tiwari. Together, they plotted revenge against Sharma.
On Sunday, the trio went to Sharma’s residence, where they engaged in a heated argument. The situation escalated when Sharma allegedly slapped Seema, Bharat’s wife. In retaliation, the three suspects attacked Sharma, ultimately slitting his throat and causing his demise.
All three accused, Bharat Chauhan, his wife Seema Devi, and Raja Tiwari, have been arrested for their involvement in the alleged murder.
