Bhopal: A five-hour gruelling operation between Maoists and security personnel resulted in the killing of at least three Maoists, including a woman, in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district.
The encounter took place in Kadla village under Bahela police, 15km away from Lanji headquarters. After heavy shelling, police personnel overcame the Maoists. No reports of any casualties or injuries were reported from the police side.
Those killed in this encounter have been identified as Nagesh, Manoj, and Ramu, all of whom were members of Tanda and Darekasa Dalam, respectively. However, Nagesh was a divisional committee member, while Manoj was an area committee member.
Senior officials have revealed that they got the tip off about their movement in the area. They were doing the same, and when defence personnel asked them to surrender and lay down their arms, they started firing on policemen. The cops immediately took position and fired on the culprits, which killed all the guilty parties, as stated by the senior officials.
