New Delhi: After the death news of former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin went viral following a tweet from the leading news agency, ANI, Tihar jail on Saturday rejected the viral reports calling it to be a fake news.
The gangster-turned-politician, who was serving a life sentence for murder at Delhi’s Tihar Jail, was shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital on Tuesday night, as per Director general of Tihar Jail. Following which news of his demise went viral on the social media.
Tihar’s reaction came after news agency ANI reported that the gangster-turned-politician had passed away in Delhi.

Shahabuddin was among the high profile inmates at Tihar jail after gangster Chota Rajan who tested Covid positive despite being locked up in a single cell and had minimum interaction with other prisoners.
Notably, the 53-year-old was a former Member of Parliament from Siwan constituency in Bihar.
