Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman today. PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of many projects and inaugurate many projects during his visit to Silvassa and Daman. He will lay the foundation stone for a total of 50 projects and inaugurate 45 projects worth a total of Rs 4813.09 crore.
PM Modi had laid the foundation of Namo Medical College
The main attraction of the Prime Minister’s visit is the NAMO Medical College, Silvassa. On April 25, PM Modi will inaugurate the Namo Medical College on his Silvassa tour. The foundation stone of the Namo Medical College was also laid by the Prime Minister himself in January 2019. This medical college is spread over 35 acres and has been built at a cost of Rs 203 crore. It consists of 13 buildings. Presently 682 students from Dadra Nagar Haveli, 272 from Daman and Diu, 35 from Gujarat and 92 students from other states or under ex-servicemen and coast guard quota are enrolled in the college.
Today the institute has an intake capacity of 150 MBBS seats which has now increased to 177. Presently 682 students are enrolled in the college. The construction cost of the college has been estimated at Rs 145.31 crore. The Institute is spread over a campus of 31.36 acres. This state-of-the-art medical college has the latest research centres, a well-equipped 24×7 central library with national and international journals, specialized medical staff, medical laboratories, smart lecture halls, research laboratories, an anatomy museum, a club house, sports facilities as well as sports facilities for the students. and houses accommodation for the faculty members.
After inaugurating the college, PM Modi will visit the campus and address a public meeting at Sayli. Thereafter, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone at Sayali Ground and dedicate to the nation 96 projects worth over Rs 4,850 crore.
PM Modi will do road show in Daman
After this PM will go to Daman via helicopter and will do road show from 6.10 pm to 6.50 pm. PM Modi’s roadshow will start from Chhapli Sheri and end at Devka Beach.
