Today’s night Strong tremors felt in Delhi-NCR.

Strong tremors of earthquake in Delhi NCR, intensity of 6.6 people came out of the houses.

Today’s night Strong tremors felt in Delhi-NCR.

New Delhi:A strong earthquake was felt in Delhi-NCR tonight at 10.19 pm. Its intensity was measured at 6.6 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake was Fayzabad in Afghanistan at a depth of 156 km from the ground. Apart from India, tremors are also felt in Pakistan, Tajikistan and China.

When the earthquake occurred, people came out of their homes in panic. Its tremors were also felt in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Tremors were felt at many places in Uttarakhand including Uttarkashi and Chamoli.
At present, no news has been received about the loss of life and property due to this earthquake.
Earthquake risk varies from place to place in the Indian subcontinent. India has been divided into four parts Zone-2, Zone-3, Zone-4 and Zone-5 on the basis of earthquake area. Zone 2 is the least dangerous zone and Zone-5 is considered to be the most dangerous zone.

All the states of North-East, Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand and some parts of Himachal Pradesh come under Zone-5 only. From low altitude parts of Uttarakhand to most parts of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi come under Zone-4. Central India falls in Zone-3 with relatively less danger, while most parts of the South come in Zone-2 with limited danger.
