In the viral video, Bhagirath is seen repeatedly slapping Shriram in the college premises. Another person, apparently Bhagirath’s friend, is also seen manhandling the student.
In the second video, Bhagirath and about five-six other students are seen abusing and thrashing Shriram in his hostel room. Bhagiratha, surrounded by his friends, is seen punching Sri Rama’s face. Later, other people also thrashed the student.
Sources say that Bhagirath Sai claimed that Sriram had misbehaved with his classmate’s sister. Late in the evening, the office of detainee Sanjay Kumar also released a video, in which Shriram is seen confessing that he misbehaved with the girl, so he was beaten up by Bhagirath and some other students.
Shriram said that he had sent an objectionable message to the sister of Bhagirath’s friend and he also misbehaved with her when the minister’s son approached her to discuss the matter. Shriram said, “Bhagirath slapped me because I misbehaved with him and the girl.”
Sriram claimed that the incident had happened about two months back and after that they had made a settlement. He said, “This is a useless video. Please stop using it.” The state BJP chief alleged that it was a “political” conspiracy by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
