Top Taiwanese defence ministry official discovers dead in hotel room

Taipei: The growing tension between China and Taiwan is gradually turning into another Russian Ukraine-like situation. China started its biggest ever military drill near Taiwan following US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. China is aiming to invade Taiwan.

The nightmare of Taiwan has not gone away. Another tragic event occurred when the deputy head of Taiwan’s defence ministry’s research and development unit, Ou Yang Li-hsing, was discovered dead in a southern Taiwan hotel on Saturday morning, according to the Central News Agency (CNA). The authorities are investigating the matter regarding his death.

Early this year, Ou Yang took over the charge as the deputy head of the military-owned National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology. He was inducted into the key post to oversee missile production projects in Taiwan.

Nancy Pelosi’s recent visit to Taiwan further escalated the tension between China and Taiwan as China blamed her visit as an intervention in its national sovereignty and integrity.

When Pelosi was on her visit to Taiwan, the Chinese warships got underway towards the Taiwanese shore; Taiwan’s defence ministry revealed that 27 Chinese fighter jets hovered over the Taiwanese air zone. Meanwhile, China claimed it hs  conducted “precision missile strikes” on Taiwan.
