Toyota Kirloskar Motor vice chairperson Vikram Kirloskar, 64, dies of heart attack

Vikram Kirloskar, vice-chairperson of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, died of a heart attack late on Tuesday night. He was 64 years old. Vikram's last rites will be performed today at 1 pm at the Hebbal crematorium in Bengaluru.

New Delhi: Vikram Kirloskar, vice-chairperson of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, died of a heart attack late on Tuesday night. He was 64 years old. According to the information, Kirloskar’s family consists of his wife Gitanjali Kirloskar and daughter Mansi Kirloskar. Vikram’s last rites will be performed today at 1 pm at the Hebbal crematorium in Bengaluru.

According to reports, Vikram Kirloskar had suffered a heart attack. After this he was declared brain-dead.

Toyota India immediately released a statement that reads, “We are extremely saddened to inform the untimely demise of Mr Vikram S. Kirloskar, Vice Chairman, Toyota Kirloskar Motor on 29th November 2022. At this time of grief, we request everyone to pray that his soul rests in peace. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Last respect can be paid at Hebbal Crematorium, Bengaluru, on 30th November 2022 at 1 pm.”

Vikram Kirloskar had recently attended a program. During this, he had said that a roadmap to halve the tax on automobiles in 10 years would have to be considered to make the Indian auto industry more globally competitive and benefit the economy as well as provide employment on a large scale.

Vikram Kirloskar, a fourth-generation member of the group founded by Laxmanrao Kirloskar in 1888, reportedly joined Kirloskar Cummins in Pune as a production-engineering trainee after college.

Vikram Kirloskar earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Along with this, Vikram Kirloskar played an important role in bringing Japan’s Toyota Motor Corp to India in 1997.

Vikram Kirloskar is the 4th generation scion of the Kirloskar Group. He was the Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar Systems Ltd. and the Vice Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. Kirloskar’s contribution to the industry has been pivotal, having held and led several prestigious positions in SIAM, CII & ARAI.
