Traffic Diversions Implemented for IAF Air Show in Prayagraj (Oct 6-8)

Prayagraj: As the excitement builds for the upcoming Air Show in Prayagraj, traffic police have laid out a comprehensive plan for traffic diversions and restrictions from October 6 to 8. With large crowds anticipated on the final day of the event, and rehearsals scheduled for October 6, several areas of the city will experience traffic alterations to ensure smooth event proceedings and public safety.

Traffic Diversions and Restrictions:

No Entry for Heavy Vehicles: Heavy vehicles will be barred from entering the city for three days, starting from October 6, to avoid congestion and streamline the traffic flow.

Restricted Movement on Main Routes: Main routes in the city will witness altered traffic flow to accommodate the event. Notably, an approximately 20-kilometer stretch from Bamrauli to Sangam nose will be impacted.

Bridge Restrictions: Movement of traffic on key bridges, namely Shastri Bridge and New Yamuna Bridge, will be restricted during the Air Show period. Alternative routes have been identified to manage traffic flow efficiently.

Specific Routes for Different Areas: Different routes have been designated for specific areas to facilitate the movement of people and vehicles. For instance, vehicles from the city to Dhumanganj will use the route via Rajruppur, Jhalwa Crossing, and DRM Office Road. Conversely, vehicles from Bamrauli to the city will be rerouted via Mandar Mod, Airport Road, and the route from Jhalwa to Karbala Tiraha.

Parking Arrangements: Adequate parking facilities have been organized for attendees coming to Sangam to witness the Air Show. Vehicles from various parts of the city will be directed to specific parking areas to manage the influx effectively.

Day-wise Diversions: Specific diversions will be implemented on October 7, including lane closures and restricted entry points, ensuring smooth traffic flow during crucial hours.

As the city gears up for this spectacular event, these traffic diversions are essential to guarantee a seamless experience for both attendees and residents. The cooperation of the public is solicited to ensure the event’s success and everyone’s safety.
