Three people aboard an Alto car have died in an accident on Thursday evening at Ronhat in Shillai assembly constituency of District Sirmaur.
The car went uncontrolled and fell into a 300 meter deep gorge
According to the information received late on Thursday evening, an Alto car HP85-1619 was going from Ronhat towards Lani-Borad that suddenly it went uncontrolled near Jaswin Kanchi and rolled into a deep gorge about 300 meters deep. At the time of the accident, there were three people in the car who died on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Dr. Ramesh Bhardwaj, S/o Shivram (age 47 years) r/o village Borod, Sakshi, daughter Bharat (age 18 years) r/o village Kinu-Panong, Jairam alias Panga s/o Siyaram (age 39 years) r/o village Lani-Borad, Sub Tehsil Ronhat has been formed as District Sirmaur. According to the information, Dr. Ramesh Bhardwaj, who lost his life in the accident, was working as a professor in Government College Ronhat and was also handling the additional charge of acting principal. The deceased girl is also said to be a student of Ronhat College who was going to the guest house in Lani-Borad village with her maternal uncle Jairam.
Confirming the matter, Pritam Singh Lalta, in-charge of police station Shillai, said that after the post-mortem, the dead bodies would be handed over to the relatives. At present, the police is investigating the cause of the accident by registering a case.
