In a heartening development, a brother of one of the 41 workers trapped inside the collapsed tunnel in Uttarkashi shared a reassuring message on Wednesday. The trapped worker, communicating with his brother, said, “I am good. You people go home. I will come.” Fruits and other food items were sent through a pipe, and the worker requested a mobile charger.

Reassuring Message: The brother of a trapped worker, Yeri, conveyed the positive message from inside the tunnel, indicating that the worker is in good condition and urging family members to go home.

Supply of Essentials: Fruits and other food items were sent to the workers inside the tunnel through a pipe. The communication offers a glimpse into the well-being of the trapped individuals, providing some relief to their families.

Mobile Charger Request: The trapped worker requested a mobile charger, emphasizing the need for communication and signaling the importance of staying connected during the ongoing rescue operation.

Progress in Rescue Operations: The director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) announced that the location for vertical drilling to rescue the trapped workers has been identified. Road construction for vertical drilling on the hill above the tunnel is nearly complete, with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) working on roads from both Silkyara and Barkot sides.

International Expert’s Optimism:
Arnold Dix, an international tunnelling expert involved in the rescue operation, expressed optimism, stating his desire to see all 41 men safely reunited with their families. The resumption of drilling with the auger machine is expected to expedite the rescue efforts.
