Tripura: One BSF jawan martyred, 2 injured attack near Bangladesh border in Tripura

Tripura: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was martyred in a fierce encounter with suspected militants of NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) on the Indo-Bangladesh border in Kanchanpur subdivision of North Tripura. Two soldiers are said to be injured in the attack.

Tripura: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was martyred in a fierce encounter with suspected militants of NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) on the Indo-Bangladesh border in Kanchanpur subdivision of North Tripura. According to officials, a BSF team was on an operation in Seema-II outpost area of ​​Kanchanpur subdivision when firing started from Bangladesh side. Two soldiers are said to be injured in the attack. The killed jawan, identified as Grijesh Kumar of BSF’s 145 battalion.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Kumar told media that a group of heavily armed militants opened fire on BSF personnel from Jupui area of ​​Rangamati hills district of Bangladesh. The soldiers retaliated, which triggered an encounter between the two sides. During the encounter, a BSF jawan got four bullets.

Kumar, who reached the spot, said that due to coordinated retaliation by the BSF, the militants could not do much damage. He said security has been beefed up on the India-Bangladesh border after the incident. The campaign in the area has also been intensified. We will talk to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on this issue for necessary action.
