Mumbai: In breaking development in the case troubles mount for Uddhav’s trouble shooter, ED has taken Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut into custody in Patra Chawl scam case after day long raids. The ED team is present at the house of Sanjay Raut in Mumbai since Sunday morning and is interrogating him related to the case. The ED had also issued summons to Raut twice before taking him into custody, but Raut did not appear even once. ED officials reached the residence of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut at around 7 am on Sunday. Raut is being questioned in the Patra Chawl land scam case.
There are also CRPF officers with the team of the investigating agency. After being taken into custody, Sanjay Raut came out of the house. During this, he had a saffron muffler wrapped around his neck. He is showing supporters by raising both his hands. Simultaneously, the saffron muffler was waved in the air.
In the Patra Chal land scam case, three ED teams are searching at different places. One of these teams has reached Sanjay Raut’s Mumbai residence. Sanjay Raut has denied any role in the Patra Chal land scam. He has said that ‘the fight between Maharashtra and Shiv Sena will continue.’
It is worth noting that a few days ago, while talking to reporters outside the ED office, the Shiv Sena MP had said that I do not have any kind of fear because I have never committed any mistake in my life. He had said that if this is a political conspiracy, then its information will be available later. Talking about the Patra Chawl land scam, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said, “I have nothing to do with Patra Chawl. Don’t even know where that trick is. I haven’t done any wrong till date.”
In fact, in this entire case, the ED claims that there was an agreement between the Society, MHADA and Guru Ashish Construction Company for the rehabilitation of 672 families of Patra Chawl. Guru Ashish was the director of the company Rakesh Wadhawan, Sarang Wadhawan and Praveen Raut of HDIL. The company is accused that by misleading Mahada, the FSI there first and sold to 9 other builders and deposited 901 crores. Then starting a new project named Meadows, collected Rs 138 crore in the name of flat booking but did not give their house to 672 original tenants. In this way the company made 1039.79 crores.
ED alleges that HDIL later gave Rs 100 crore to Praveen Raut, director of Guru Ashish Company, out of which Praveen Raut gave Rs 55 lakh to Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha Raut, who is part of money laundering. Earlier, the ED has given notice to attach the Alibaug land and Dadar flat of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
