Tunisha death case: TV actor Sheezan Khan walks out of Thane jail a day after getting bail; Family gets emotional

Mumbai: Actor Sheezaan Khan was on Sunday released from Thane Central Jail after being granted bail in the Tunisha Sharma death case. Sheejan was captured by media cameras as she exited the jail premises, in which her family had arrived to receive Sheejan after the jail. Sheezan’s mother and sisters became emotional by hugging him.

Sheezan released from jail
Sheezan’s pictures are becoming increasingly viral on social media. Sheezan Khan got bail on Saturday. A court in Vasai in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Saturday granted bail to television actor Sheezan Khan, who was arrested last year on charges of abetting the suicide of co-actress Tunisha Sharma.

Bail granted after 70 days
Sharma allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on December 24, 2022, on the sets of a TV serial near Waliv in Palghar, sources reported. Sheezan Khan (28) was arrested the next day on a complaint by Sharma’s mother.

Accused in Tunisha Sharma death case
Additional Sessions Court Judge RD Deshpande ordered that Sheejan be released on a bond of Rs 1 lakh. The court also ordered the actor to surrender his passport and asked him not to leave the country without prior permission from the court.

Sheezan’s lawyer Sharad Rai said that his client had sought bail on different grounds, including that the charge sheet in the matter had already been filed and the investigation was over. He also argued that the punishment under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) does not attract punishment in this case.
