Tushar Gandhi claims Mumbai cops stopped him on way to commemorate Quit India Day

New Delhi: Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson Tushar Gandhi has been detained by the police. Tushar himself has claimed to have been detained by tweeting. Tushar tweeted that he has been detained at the Santa Cruz police station. However, he was released after some time.

Tushar Gandhi wrote on Twitter, ‘I have been detained for the first time in the history of independent India.’ Tushar wrote that he has been detained at the Santa Cruz police station. He claimed that I had left home on August 9 to celebrate the anniversary of the Quit India Movement. I am proud that my great grandfather Bapu and Ba were also arrested by the British police on the historic date.

Tushar tweeted another. He wrote that as soon as I get permission to leave the police station, I will leave for August Kranti Maidan. Will remember the August Revolution Day and its martyrs.
