Twitter new update lets you control who can react to you; check out

New Delhi: The popular microblogging site, Twitter, has been testing new features to give its users rich digital experience. It’s been testing new features like Fleet, voice messages in DMs, and even Twitter Spaces. Last year, the company had rolled out the ability to limit who could reply to you on Twitter when you posted a tweet. The company is now expanding the feature with a useful capability — editing the setting after you have tweeted, and modifying it for older tweets too.

Check out here how to use this Twitter tip:

Twitter update: Twitter is now rolling out the improved feature to users who have updated to the latest version of the app.

Who can reply to tweets: Twitter maintains that the settings are in place to foster a more meaningful conversation experience, and users will now be able to modify older tweets to allow replies from everyone, people they follow or people they have mentioned.

Hitting Twitter trolls for a six: Microblogging platforms like Twitter suffer from a huge trolling problem, while research has highlighted the detrimental effects of online harassment on social networks. Keeping in mind Twitter’s open design where users can reply to all tweets posted by public accounts, the options to limit the ability to respond were well received last year.

How to do it on Twitter: In order to be able to use the feature, users will need to be on the latest version of the app. To start limiting who can reply to your older tweets, you have to first visit the tweet and look for the three-dot menu on the top right side of the screen and select the “change who can reply” option to everyone, people you follow, or only people you mention. Twitter will accordingly limit who can respond to that tweet after your settings have been saved.
