Patna: Two ministers from Bihar have tested COVID positive on Tuesday morning ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Patna.
After testing COVID positive, Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad and state Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav went into isolation. Both of them appealed to every person who was in contact with them to go for a COVID test to remove their doubt.
The state government conducted a test, taking RT-PCR samples of 1,100 people, most of them ministers and high-level officials, who are expected to attend the Prime Minister’s event.
Previously, three state ministers, including Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha, and Social Welfare Minister Lesi Singh, tested positive.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to land at the Patna airport at around 5.20 pm today. He is scheduled to inaugurate the Bihar centenary memorial column in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) premises on the occasion of the completion of its 100 years.
