Two IRB jawan killed, 2 more injured after colleague opens fire during polling duty in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: There is news of a clash between soldiers of the Indian Reserve Battalion in Porbandar, Gujarat. According to the information being received from the police, after the clash, there was firing between the jawans, in which two jawans were killed, while two others were seriously injured.

It is not yet clear what caused the clash. After getting the information of the incident, the police have taken possession of the dead bodies. At the same time, the injured has been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The police is investigating this entire matter. In the preliminary investigation of the police, it has been found that the jawans between whom this clash and subsequent firing took place had come for election duty. The jawan fired at his comrades with AK 47. However, no jawan was on duty when the firing took place. At present, the police is investigating the whole matter. Senior police officers are also interrogating the companions of the deceased soldiers and the soldiers of other factions regarding the case.

Regarding this incident, Porbandar Collector and District Election Officer AM Sharma told NDTV that he was not on duty when the firing took place between the jawans. In the evening, a mutual argument first started between the jawans over some issue, which turned into a clash in a short while. After this, a jawan fired several rounds from his AK-47 rifle.

The jawans involved in the incident are from the Indian Reserve Battalion (Manipur) who are currently deployed with the Central Armed Police Force in Gujarat. At present, we are getting the matter investigated as to what caused the fight between the jawans.

Let us tell you that in Porbandar district, under the first phase, voting is to be held on December 1 and under the second phase, on December 5. While the results will come on 8 December.
