Uganda: A massive fire broke out at a school for blind children in Mukono, Uganda. In this unfortunate incident, 11 innocent children have died tragically. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained. The injured have been admitted to the hospital with the help of fire brigade personnel and local police.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained. The death toll is likely to rise further. The injured have been admitted to the hospital with the help of fire brigade personnel and local police.

At least 11 children were killed in a school fire in central Uganda’s Mukono district on Tuesday, news agency reported. In its statement, the police said that the tragic incident happened at around 1 pm local time at the Blind School. “The cause of the fire is not yet known, but so far 11 children have been confirmed dead, while six are in critical condition and have been admitted to Herona Hospital in Kisoga,” the statement said.”

Police said an investigation had been launched into the cause of the fire but did not specify if the victims were all students at the school.School fires are common in Ugandan schools. The last such incident occurred in January, when four children were killed in a fire at a school in the Ugandan capital Kampala.

At least nine students were killed in a fire at a high school in central Uganda in 2018. Before the 2018 incident, another school fire had broken out in 2008, in which 19 children died.
