In view of the security of the PM, one and a half thousand soldiers have been deployed in Indore. Along with Ujjain police, the police administration has become active in Indore as well. In the inauguration, PM will also address the general meeting here. The PM will be in Ujjain for about three hours.

The length of the corridor is more than 900 meters. Here 108 pillars made of sandstone have been made. The ‘trishul’ is designed on its top and the ‘mudra’ of Lord Shiva is there. Along with artistic sculptures of the deity, there are 53 illuminated murals depicting stories from the Shiva Purana. As per reports, a large-scale “shivaling” covered in strands of “moli” (sacred) threads has been positioned beneath the grand gateway — Nandi Dwar — of the “Mahakal Lok.” If all goes as planned, the prime minister will formally unveil the “shivaling” to signify the start of the mega corridor.

Central Culture Minister Ji Kishan Reddy has shared a video on Twitter, which is made through a magnificent drone. He tweeted- ‘Jai Mahakal will inaugurate the first phase of Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor of Ujjain, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on October 11. ” Reddy shared another video on Twitter, in which the corridor’s sculptures, murals and other structures are visible.

According to a government release on the occasion, “The Mahakal Path consists of 108 pillars (pillars) depicting the Ananda Tandava Swaroop (dance form) of Lord Shiva. Several religious sculptures depicting the life of Lord Shiva are installed along the Mahakal path. The wall of the mural along the path is based on stories from the Shiva Purana such as the act of creation, the birth of Ganesha, the story of Sati and Daksha etc.”

Work on the second phase of the project is underway and once completed it will increase the temple complex area from 2.87 hectares to 47 hectares while also significantly increasing the holding capacity.

Renowned singer Kailash Kher will perform a special song- ‘Jai Shree Mahakal’, a ‘Shiv Stuti’ at a grand event at Kartik Mela Ground. The Mahakaleshwar temple is one of the 12 ‘Jyotirlingas’ of the country and there is an influx of devotees throughout the year. Ahead of Modi’s visit, Ujjain has been decorated with colorful flags on a large number of lamp posts, while several roads and flyovers have been illuminated, including the Hari Phatak flyover. It has become a selfie point because of the new corridor.

Several cultural programs have been organized in the city since October 7, including a laser show, Ramlila at Ram Ghat and daily ‘Maha Aarti’ on the banks of river Kshipra. Hindus regard the Mahakaleshwar Temple as one of the holiest places on earth, and thousands of them travel from all over the country to visit it during Mahashivratri, which falls in the Shravan month of the Hindu calendar.
