However, Gill has made a complaint to West Midlands Police about the threats she has received. On behalf of Gill, it was said that she is worried about the safety of her family, as she is seen with her daughters in the constituency. As an MP, she has to fulfill her duties regularly and have meetings with the local constituents. In such a situation, it is a matter of great concern for them to get direct threats.
Gill said, “This latest threat worries me. As a woman, when you put yourself forward and you raise your voice against injustice, it is important that your safety is given special attention. I Agreed that in politics you come across people who can be found anywhere. I could not believe that a person used his workplace email to make threats..”
She said, “Usually most people use a nickname. But there has been a lot of hate speech against me even through WhatsApp groups to threaten me.” She said that in view of all this, I have informed the West Midlands Police about the danger.
In December 2021, Gill came under attack on social media over a tweet, which she later deleted. In that tweet, he referred to “Hindu terrorism” in the violence at the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
