Union Minister Anurag Thakur claimed 'No 1 accused of liquor scam is Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia but the Kingpin is CM Arvind Kejriwal'
New Delhi: After the press conference of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on CBI raid, Union Minister Anurag Thakur retaliated. He said that the CBI may have made Manish Sisodia an accused in the corruption case under the liquor policy, but the main conspirator of this scam is CM Arvind Kejriwal.
The Union Minister said that after the CBI raid in the liquor scam, the color of the face of Manish Sisodia was blown away. He was unable to answer questions from journalists. He himself said that do not worry about the liquor scam. “Manish ji, if your liquor policy was right, why did you take it back? It’s like ‘chor ki daadhi mei tinka’… why is there a soft corner for liquor businessmen?… I challenge Arvind Kejriwal to come in front of the nation and answer me within 24 hours,” Thakur said.
Meaning if they accept it in PC, then a scam has happened. He said that if your liquor policy was fine then why took it back. When corruption was shown in the liquor policy, Kejriwal withdrew the policy. Alleging the AAP is trying to hide excise “scam” with other issues, Thakur took a dig at Sisodia, calling him “Money Shh” as he “makes money and maintains silence”.
Earlier in the day, Sisodia said that he might be arrested soon stating that the liquor issue or the excise policy was just an excuse to target him since he was a minister under Delhi Chief Minister Arwind Kejriwal. “Maybe within the next 3-4 days, CBI-ED will arrest me… we won’t be scared, you won’t be able to break us… Elections of 2024 will be AAP vs BJP,” Sisodia said.
On Friday morning, The CBI carried out searches at the residences of Sisodia and IAS officer Arava Gopi Krishna apart from 19 other locations after registering an FIR in connection with the alleged corruption in the implementation of the Delhi excise policy.
