Prayagraj/Uttar Pradesh: Another shooter, who was involved in the killing of Umesh Pal and two security personnel, has been killed by the police in an encounter. The name of the slain shooter is being told as Vijay Chowdhary alias Usman. It is being told that Vijay was the shooter who first fired at Umesh Pal. The police had declared a reward of Rs 50,000 on him. Let us inform that in this scandal, a reward of two and a half lakh rupees has been declared on five shooters including Atiq’s third son Asad.
Vijay Chowdhary alias Usman, who was killed in the encounter on Monday, was the shooter in whose identity the police found it most difficult. He was the shooter who fired the first shot at Umesh Pal as soon as he got down from the car. He had showered bullets on Umesh Pal and the gunner. Its footage was captured in CCTV but even after 10 days the police could not reveal the name. It is being told that on Monday morning, he had an encounter with the police and crime branch in Kaundhiyara police station area of Prayagraj.
In this, the bike rider shooter who was firing on the police got shot by the police. The police took him to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. The weapon has been recovered from him.
The Prayagraj police and authorities have been bulldozing the properties of the accused and close aides of Atiq Ahmad in different areas of the town. No one has been arrested in the case so far and the encounter is second in the massive crackdown by the police after it neutralised one accused in a similar manner.
Earlier on Feb 27, three days after the daylight murder of Umesh Pal, one of the main suspects in the case, shooter Arbaaz was killed by the police in an encounter. The Creta vehicle that was used in Umesh Pal’s murder was driven by Arbaaz, according to the police.
Accused Arbaaz was shot by the district police and the Special Operations Group of the Uttar Pradesh Police at Prayagraj’s Nehru Park.
Arbaaz was surrounded by police teams following an intelligence input, Deputy Commissioner of Police Navendu Kumar told PTI. He was the driver of the white SUV that the attackers used to attack witness Umesh Pal.
According to Kumar, he opened fire on the police and was wounded in the subsequent confrontation in Nehru Park under the Dhoomanganj police station at approximately 3 p.m.
Arbaaz was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead, he added.
Umesh Pal was shot dead in the Sulem Sarai area of the city under Dhoomanganj Police Station on February 24. He was the prime witness in the 2005 murder case of BSP MLA Raju Pal who was also shot dead in the same area, and Umesh was returning to his home after giving his final statement in the case.
