AAP Slams Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi’s Allegations, Calls Them Fabricated and Intentional.

BJP Urges CM Arvind Kejriwal to Refer Alleged Delhi Jal Board Irregularities to CBI and ED for Probe.

“The accounts have not been maintained since 2017, and they are attempting to conceal the details. There is a discrepancy of ₹1,601 crore in the books, along with a mismatch of ₹1,167 crore between the Delhi Jal Board’s (DJB) financial statement and the conciliation statement of banks. Additionally, there is no trace of a ₹135-crore term deposit,” she alleged.

Ms. Lekhi further alleged that there was “a scam of ₹3,237 crore under various heads” involving financial accounting irregularities, adjustments and re-adjustments, missing fixed deposits, and others.

The AAP alleged that it is “shameful” that the BJP has ensured, with the GNCTD Amendment Act, that officers do not work for the people of Delhi during the past six months.

The Delhi government remains committed to the progress and prosperity of the city and its people, and the DJB continues to work diligently to provide water and sewer facilities.

“Now, to obstruct the work, the BJP is resorting to false allegations. They are now using the threat of CBI inquiries to intimidate officers. This is a tactic to hinder the commendable efforts of the Kejriwal government. Despite the BJP’s attempts, the Arvind Kejriwal government remains dedicated to serving the people of Delhi,” it alleged further.
