UP: 6 Dead, 21 injured in bus-truck collision on Agra-Lucknow expressway in Firozabad

Private bus going from Ludhiana to Rae Bareilly met with an accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway at around 4:30 am in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad on Wednesday. There were about 60 passengers in the bus.

Lucknow: In a tragic incident, Bus going from Ludhiana to Rae Bareilly met with an accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway at around 4:30 am in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad on Wednesday. Sleeper bus and DCM collided on the expressway. There were about 60 passengers in the bus. Six passengers killed tragically in the horrific accident. While 21 are injured. The injured are being treated at Saifai medical college.

The dead include a child, a woman and four men. Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the accident. Expressing condolences towards the dead, he has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured.

The condition of many passengers remains critical. Police reached the spot and took the dead bodies in their possession and sent them for postmortem. Those who lost their lives in the accident include a 15-month-old baby, a woman and four male passengers. After the accident, there was hue and cry on the spot. Along with this, the officials have given instructions to provide immediate treatment to the injured.

According to information, a sleeper bus was going from Ludhiana to Rae Bareilly in UP in the early hours of Wednesday. As soon as the bus reached the 61st Milestone in Nagla Khangar police station area of ​​Firozabad on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, it met with an accident. As the driver dozed off, the sleeper bus collided with the DCM running ahead.

The bus has been removed from the site of the accident and further investigation is underway.
