UP: 6 Dead after speeding truck crashes into bus on Gorakhpur-Kushinagar highway; 25 Injured

The identities of two of the deceased persons have not yet been determined. Those identified include Shailesh Patel (25), Suresh Chauhan (35), Nitesh Singh (25) and Himanshu Yadav (24).

Gorakhpur: Tragedy strikes after a speeding truck collided with a bus parked near Jagdishpur on the Gorakhpur-Kushinagar Highway in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh late on Thursday night. As many as six people were killed and 25 others sustained injuries. The passengers were standing on the road because the bus tyre was punctured.

25 Individuals those who were injured in the incident, has been rushed to the district hospital and medical college with the assistance of five ambulances. The condition of some of the injured are severe. After learning about the incident, the SP City and other officials arrived at the scene. The officials have also alerted the doctors of the district hospital and medical college and the doctors have also reached the incident site.

Passengers were waiting for another bus
A bus from Gorakhpur was carrying passengers that headed towards to Padrauna, near Mallapur in Jagdishpur, one of the bus’s wheels suffered a flat tire. The driver and conductor parked the bus on the side of the road and requested another bus. An empty bus arrived from Gorakhpur and was in the process of picking up passengers. Some passengers had already boarded the new bus, while others were still standing between the two buses. In the midst of this, a speeding truck collided with the bus from behind.

The collision was so severe that two people lost their lives on the spot, they came under the wheels of the truck. In addition, around two dozen people sustained injuries, with a dozen of them reported to be in critical condition. Upon reaching the hospital, four more injured individuals died.

Following the crash, officials alerted doctors at the district and medical college. With a significant number of injured individuals arriving, doctors were called immediately. The injured were transported to the Sadar Hospital and the Medical College via five ambulances that reached the accident site. According to the police, the bus was carrying over 30 passengers
