Lucknow: On Saturday, Eight people died and 15 injured after a fire breaks out at Chemical factory in Harpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Police and fire-engines have rushed to the spot and rescue operations are on.
According to the report, 15 workers suffered injuries in the explosion that took place at the factory located in the Dholana area of the district. Reports also suggest that some labourers could be trapped inside the factory.
Hapur IG Praveen Kumar said, “Total 15 injured, 8 dead in the explosion that took place at an electronic equipment manufacturing unit in Hapur. Injured being treated. We are probing the matter. Action will be taken against those responsible.”
A police spokesperson told media, The accident happened after a boiler burst at an industrial facility in Dhaulana, around 60 kilometres from New Delhi.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, his office stated in a tweet in Hindi. “The chief minister has directed district administration officers to go to the spot and oversee rescue and relief measures and extend all possible help to the victims and their families,” the CM’s office tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled the death tragic deaths and said that the state government was promptly engaged in treatment of those injured. “The incident at a chemical factory in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh is heartbreaking. I convey my condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in this. The state government is promptly engaged in the treatment of the injured and all other possible assistance,” read a tweet by the Prime Minister’s office.
