Meerut: In a distressing incident, a group of assailants brutally thrashed and urinated on the face of a class 12 student in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, the police said on Sunday. The entire horrific incident which was captured on camera has been circulating on social media. The incident took place near KL International School in Jagriti Vihar area on November 13, a dark day in the history of the city.
In one of the videos, a man can be seen assaulting the boy in a deserted place and the two other accomplices recorded the incident. The student was not only beaten violently by a group of youths but also did humiliating acts like urinating on his face. This act of unimaginable cruelty was not only committed in secrecy, but was also filmed and broadcast on the internet, further humiliating the victim.

The Meerut police took cognisance of the matter and registered a case against seven individuals involved in this heinous crime. Four has been arrested, bringing a glimmer of hope for justice. The accused include Avi Sharma, Ashish Malik, Rajan, Mohit Thakur, and three unidentified individuals. However, the identities of the remaining perpetrators and their motive behind this assault remain undisclosed.

“On 13.11.2023, a youth was assaulted by some persons in Mohalla Jagriti Vihar under Police Station Medical area and during the assault, urine was passed on the said youth. In relation to the incident, on the basis of the complaint filed by the victim’s father, a case has been registered at the Medical Police Station under relevant sections and the main accused has been arrested. Advance investigative action is being taken”, the city police said in a post on X.
The incident has triggered outrage among the community, leading to calls for justice and underscoring the concerns regarding safety and law enforcement in the region. The victim’s family is apprehensive about the handling of the case and has alleged foul play in the registration of the FIR. These allegations underline the need for transparency and integrity in the investigation process.
