UP CM Yogi Adityanath Addresses SC Community Empowerment and Unveils Rs3,357 Crore Worth of Projects in Prayagraj

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted on Monday that the Scheduled Caste (SC) and marginalized communities were previously excluded from government scheme benefits before 2017. However, under the governance of the BJP’s “double engine,” they are now gaining access to essential services such as ration and employment opportunities.

Addressing the ‘Anusuchit Jati Mahasammelan’ at Mewalal Inter College, Soraon, the CM highlighted the ongoing schemes tailored to support SC and marginalized communities, ensuring they receive their rightful benefits.

Yogi Adityanath emphasized the government’s respect for Sant Ravidas and other influential figures from the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for honoring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, by converting places associated with him into memorials, including his residence in England.

The CM noted that scholarships and higher education opportunities were being provided to SC students in England, and a memorial for Dr. Ambedkar was under construction in Lucknow, complete with scholarships and hostel facilities.

He mentioned that the celebration of November 26 as Constitution Day and November 15 as Scheduled Tribes Day, in honor of Birsa Munda, is a testament to the government’s commitment to inclusivity.

Yogi Adityanath shared his vision for Prayagraj, mentioning the renovation of Rishi Valmiki’s ‘Kutia’ (hut) in Lalapur, along with plans for a ropeway to connect it.

He listed several government schemes introduced for SC and ST communities, emphasizing that the “double engine government” is not just making promises but also fulfilling them. This includes providing homes for marginalized communities, SCs, and STs, along with land leases, a ₹5 lakh health insurance cover, and ration cards.

The CM highlighted the government’s preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, emphasizing that it will be a unifying event where people from around the world will participate without any concerns of caste or untouchability.

In addition, Yogi Adityanath discussed the crackdown on fraudulent ration distribution through fair price shops, revealing that 20 lakh fake ration cards were seized after his government took charge. He stressed that ration is now available to every eligible person, irrespective of their caste or religion.

The CM also mentioned the Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya initiative, which will facilitate students from various communities to live and study together, fostering their overall development.

Yogi Adityanath assured that the benefits of the ‘One District One Product’ scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana are reaching the intended beneficiaries. He also underlined the government’s efforts to ensure SC/ST students receive benefits from education and coaching schemes and receive reservations in government jobs. The PM Swamitva Yojana aims to provide land leases to the poor and scheduled caste members in their villages.

During the program, Chief Minister Adityanath inaugurated 424 development projects worth ₹3,357 crore. These projects encompass various sectors, including water supply, infrastructure, and regional development, signifying the government’s commitment to progress and development in the state.

The CM also handed over a ₹85 crore cheque to 4,000 women’s self-help groups (SHGs), conducted the ‘Annaprashan’ ceremony for a laborer’s six-month-old daughter, and distributed keys to the beneficiaries of the Rashtriya Ajivika Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
