Lucknow: A sensational incident of murder has come to light in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, in Lakhimpur Kheri city, a doctor killed his doctor wife by beating him with a stick. Not only this, after this the dead body was cremated by taking it to Garhmukteshwar, about 400 km away from Lakhimpur Kheri. Then came back and lodged the missing report of his wife in Sadar Kotwali of Lakhimpur Kheri. When the UP Police investigated the matter, this sensational murder case came to light.
Lakhimpur Kheri police, after investigating the case, told that in the case, Dr. Abhishek Dixit of Mohalla Bahadurnagar of the city beat his wife Dr. Vandana Shukla to death with a stick. Then went to Garhmukteshwar, 371 km away from home, performed the last rites of the dead body and came back and also wrote the missing report of the wife.
Police said that during the investigation, Dr. Abhishek Dixit and his father have confessed to the crime. Dr. Abhishek Dixit’s father Gauri Shankar Awasthi was also involved in this incident. The police have registered a case of murder and arrested both the accused.
According to the police, Vandana Shukla, also an ayurvedic doctor, married Abhishek, a resident of Mohalla Bahadurnagar, Lakhimpur city in 2014. The couple built a hospital named Gauri Chikitsalaya on Sitapur Road and used to practice there. Gradually marital disputes started between the couple and Vandana decided to practice at Laxmi Narayan Hospital in Chamalpur, the police added.
Circle Officer of Lakhimpur Sadar, Sandeep Singh said, “We received a complaint on November 27 from Abhishek that his wife had gone missing. He told police that she had left her home with some valuables. The police got to know about the couple’s marital issues and put Mr Awasthi on our watch list.”
