Lucknow: After last year’s major teacher recruitment under Mission Rozgar, providing employment to 69,000 assistant teachers for state-run primary schools, the Yogi-led Uttar Pradesh government will now fill up over 2,800 posts of teachers lying vacant in government secondary schools.
An online portal has been developed by the secondary education department on which the candidates selected by UP Public Service Commission will fill in their choice of schools in order of preference by August first week. There are 2,667 posts for assistant teachers and 179 posts of lecturers in secondary schools.
According to officials, the choice of school will only be accepted online and all communication with the selected candidates will be done via email and mobile. While the deadline for candidates selected for the post of assistant teachers to fill up their school preference for posting is July 28, the same for lecturers is August 4.
For vacant 179 posts of lecturers in 14 subjects — English, economics, history, Urdu, home science, biology, civics, physics, psychology, chemistry, Sanskrit, Hindi, mathematics and geography — there are 110 posts for males and 69 posts for women. Out of 2,667 posts of assistant teachers, 1,261 are for male candidates while 1,406 are for females. Preference will be given to candidates who are physically challenged. Married women having an autistic child with 40% disability, those whose spouses are in military and paramilitary forces, widow/widower who didn’t re-marry, and single parents will be given preference in allotment of schools.
