Prayagraj: The private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj hit the headlines due to the transfusion of mosambi juice (sweet lemon) instead of platelets to a dengue patient who later died. After that, the hospital was sealed. This must be said to be the height of negligence.
The Prayagraj Development Authority has been saying that the hospital building was illegally built. The civic body has asked the hospital authorities to vacate the building by October 28. It seems a bulldozer may run over the hospital due to its carelessness.
As per the report, the hospital authorities remained silent on the earlier notice sent to it amidst the illegal construction. The civic authorities have made it clear that if satisfactory answer is not received from the hospital authorities, then it will be bulldozed
The hospital was sealed following the death of 30-year-old Pradeep Pandey. The deceased dengue patient was administered mosambi juice in place of platelets. After the wrong transfusion, his condition deteriorated further, and he was shifted to another hospital, where he was declared dead. A video of the alleged incident went viral.
The hospital authorities claimed that the attendants of the patient brought the platelets. We do not test the platelets that the attendants bring. How is the hospital responsible if the attendants fetch the wrong platelets? It should be the responsibility of the attendants to ascertain whether they are authentic, “hospital owner Saurabh Mishra said.”
