UP: Massive fire at King George’s Medical University in Lucknow; no casualties yet

Lucknow: A fire broke out in an under-construction building of King George’s Medical University in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. On information, several fire tenders have reached the spot. However, the cause of the fire has not been known yet. Relief work is going on at the spot.

According to the information, the incident took place on Thursday afternoon. The work of construction of one building in the Cardiology Center is going on in the King George’s Medical University campus. Due to some reasons a fire broke out in the upper floor of this under construction building. It has been told that OPD operates on the ground floor of the building. After the incident, there was a stampede on the spot. On information, several fire tenders have reached the spot. However, there is no news of any loss of life in the accident.

The building was evacuated
Firefighters who arrived on information about the fire evacuated the building and barricaded the entire area. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, but the fire brigade personnel are having a tough time dousing the blaze. An official said that the first priority is to douse the fire. After this, a detailed investigation will be done to find out the cause of the fire.

Lucknow District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar said that shuttering work was going on on the upper floor of the building and the fire broke out due to some reason. The fire engine reached the spot and brought the fire under control. There is no information of any casualty. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained but people working will be questioned about it.
