In a statement from the Chief Minister’s office, CM Yogi Adityanath conveyed the state government’s unwavering support to the family of the braveheart captain during this difficult time.

The encounter in Rajouri on Wednesday claimed the lives of four army personnel, including Captain Shubham Gupta, who had joined the Indian Army in 2015 and was commissioned in 2018. Captain Gupta’s first posting was in Udhampur, according to the released statement.

The ongoing anti-terror operation in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal, Rajouri, entered its second day on Thursday, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists. One of the slain terrorists, identified as Quari, was a Pakistani national and a hardcore militant trained on the Pakistani and Afghan fronts, as reported by PRO Defence Jammu.

The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, including the 16 Corps Commander and Romeo Force commander, closely monitored the operations. The joint forces launched operations in the Kalakote Area, Gulabgarh Forest, and Rajouri District based on specific intelligence.

The terrorists, injured and surrounded, are currently the focus of ongoing operations. The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps emphasized the valiant efforts of their personnel to prevent collateral damage to women and children, highlighting their commitment to the highest traditions of the Indian Army.

Contact with the terrorists was established on November 22, leading to an intense firefight and ongoing operations to neutralize the threat.
