After the incident, Uttar Pradesh police nabbed 10 members of a gang on Friday. Police claimed the guilty parties used to sell fake platelets to patients after gathering plasma from different blood groups.
The police apprehended the accused and recovered fake platelet pouches from them.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey was quoted as saying that ten members of a gang allegedly selling fake platelets to patients were arrested in Prayagraj. Pandey said that the accused sourced plasma from blood banks and later put it in a pouch and sold it.
A sample has been sent to a laboratory. The correct picture will emerge after the test, the SP said.
The hospital was sealed on Thursday for allegedly administering fruit juice instead of blood platelets to a patient. After that, the patient died. The deceased was rushed to another hospital but could not survive.
The incident went viral on social media. UP deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak issued an order to seal the hospital. As per the report, no FIR has been initiated at any local police station.
