Karhal: The Election Commission has announced to hold a re-polling in 266 number poll-booth of Mainpuri’s Karhal assembly constituency in the 3rd phase of voting in the UP elections 2022, on Wednesday.
Notably, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is in the fray against BJP’s Professor SP Singh Baghel from here. BJP candidate from Karhal, Mr Baghel had complained of disturbances during the voting. After investigation, the observer sent the report to the Election Commission. After this, the commission has ordered for re-polling.
During the polling at the primary school, Jaswantpur, the complaint of booth capturing was made by the BJP candidate, Professor SP Singh Baghel. After this, observer Karhal Chandra Kumar Jamatia sent the report of re-polling to the Election Commission.
Booth number 266 will be re-polling
District Election Officer Avinash Krishna Singh said that polling will start from 7 am on Wednesday at polling station number 266 in Jaswantpur amid tight security. For this, the polling party will reach till late Tuesday evening. Tight security arrangements have been made during the re-polling as well.
The Static Magistrate, Sector Magistrate and Zonal Magistrate will be present along with the webcasting of the entire polling process. Along with this, paramilitary forces and police forces will be deployed. On Tuesday, the officers and employees were busy preparing for the departure of the polling party and providing EVMs etc.
After the order of re-polling, the officials reached Jaswantpur. Block Development Officer Mainpuri Shwetank Pandey inspected the polling station. He saw the arrangements here with Lekhpal Shyam Gupta. He also made arrangements for the stopping of the polling party. During this, village head representative Rinku Yadav was present.
On February 20, 63.30% polling was recorded in Mainpuri. In this also 65.97% votes were cast in Karhal.
