Lucknow: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SubSP) chief OP Rajbhar, an ally of the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the 2022 assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh, stirred controversy as he questioned the public’s understanding after tasting crushing defeat against BJP. After blaming EVMs, Rajbhar termed the people of backward class as uneducated, boorish and ignorantas he had failed to convince the public, said the leader during his media interaction.
When the journalist asked the SBSP leader about the reasons for the defeat, he said, “The vote we wanted to bring with us, there is a lot of illiteracy, because of illiteracy, he does not understand the matter of education. I don’t understand about the job. The one who never got sick or the family in which no one went to the hospital did not understand about our free treatment. The one who came to the hospital understood that money had to be taken on interest, land had to be mortgaged.
Whereas, in a conversation with another channel, talking about the BJP getting votes on the issue of bulldozers, he said, “These bulldozers, I just saw some of our backward class people on social media who are uneducated, stupid. It is said to them that you are shouting slogans by sitting on a bulldozer, you would spend that much time in teaching your child. Put your child to become a doctor, master engineer”.
When OP Rajbhar was asked whether the public had rejected your words, he said, “People believe, we have tried to explain.” Teacher explains in class. He teaches 50, not everyone gets merit. 2-3 first come, 10-20 fail.” He said that he has had talks with Akhilesh Yadav and every seat will be reviewed as to why where he lost and where he won, what was the reason.
