Up polls: Residence of defeated MLAs start getting vacated, Swami Prasad Maurya starts first

Lucknow: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has returned to power with an absolute majority, Yogi Adityanath – who has tendered his resignation to UP governor Anandiben Patel, will take oath as the chief minister again after Holi. At the same time, before the formation of the new government, the defeated MLAs have already started vacating their government residence. In the row, Swami Prasad Maurya became the first minister to vacant his bungalow as the shifting work has been undergoing since Friday night.

At the same time, the process of allotment of houses to the winning MLAs has also started. It is to be mentioned that before joining to Samajwadi party, Swami Prasad Maurya was a minister in Yogi-government. He was allotted a government residence on Kalidas Marg. The chief ministers residence (5, Kalidas Marg) is also on this route.

Let us tell you that just before the elections, Swami Prasad Maurya left the BJP to join the Samajwadi Party. SP had fielded him from Faisal Nagar, from where he lost the election.

It is worth noting that with the formation of new government, the property revenue department becomes active regarding the residence of families and new ministers.
