New Delhi: A 15-year-old girl died after allegedly falling from the terrace of a private school in Ayodhya on Friday, police said. However, the father has claimed that his daughter was gang-raped before being thrown from the terrace. Police have registered a case against the principal of the school and two staff members, including a sports teacher.
The girl’s father alleges that the principal called the class 10 student at 8:30 in the morning despite not having classes. The father said, “The principal told me around 9.50 a.m. that my child had sustained injuries after falling from the swing. When I reached the school, I was told that my child had been taken to the hospital. She had bruises all over her body. There were marks, which is not possible in case of a fall from the swing.”
Ayodhya Deputy Inspector General of Police G Muniraj said, “The post-mortem shows that the injuries were caused by falling from the building. The report states that the cause of death was shock and antenatal haemorrhage.”
The student was taken to another hospital and died during treatment. The CCTV footage shows that the girl had fallen from the roof of the school building, contradicting the principal’s statement. The father claimed, “My crying daughter (in the hospital) told me that when she reached the school, the principal Handed her over to two men, one of them a teacher. They then gang-raped her and to cover up the crime, they threw her off the roof.”
Ayodhya Superintendent of Police (City) Madhuban Singh told sources, “On Saturday afternoon, on the complaint of the family of the girl student, a case was registered against the headmaster, school manager and a sports teacher for gangrape of a minor girl, murder, destruction of evidence and criminal conspiracy.” Case has been registered under.
