US to impose mandatory COVID-19 test for travellers from China amid surge in cases

Governments around the world are issuing guidelines amidst rising corona cases in China. Meanwhile, America has issued an advisory regarding passengers coming from China. People over the age of two must show a negative test report before entering the US.

Chicago: The increasing cases of corona virus in China have increased the concerns of countries around the world. In such a situation, America has decided to make the investigation of Covid-19 mandatory for passengers coming from China. US health officials said on Wednesday that new steps are being taken together with India, Italy, Japan and Taiwan after China’s decision to remove zero-covid policies.

People above two years of age will have to show negative report
US health officials said in a press conference that from January 5, all air passengers aged 2 years and older will be required to show a negative corona report two days before departure from China, Hong Kong or Macao. Central officials said that passengers who are found positive 10 days before the flight can present documents of recovery from Corona. American officials expressed concern.

He attributed the lack of information about the variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in China to the new variant of the virus. US officials raised concerns that new strains of the virus could develop as a result of the rising number of Covid cases in China.

The US is expanding its voluntary genomic sequencing program at airports, adding Seattle and Los Angeles to the program. This brings the total number of airports collecting information from positive tests to seven. It is worth mentioning that after the sudden change in the Kovid policy in China, cases have increased rapidly in the country. After which strict steps are being taken to stop Kovid all over the world.

According to some international health experts, the lifting of sanctions after widespread protests against China means that COVID-19 is spreading largely unchecked and infecting millions of people. Beijing has faced international criticism that its official Covid data and death toll are a mismatch with the scale of the outbreak.
