Gurugram Cyber Crime: The cyber crime team of Gurugram Police has busted a fake international call center, which was operating from the second floor of a society in Sector-67, where people from Australia and America were being duped. Was. A joint team of cybercrime police station West and South raided this fake call center on Thursday night. The team has arrested 7 people from here. Seized 5 laptops, 7 mobiles and other items. It is alleged that they used to cheat foreign nationals in the name of technical assistance. They mostly targeted foreign nationals in Australia and the US by sending fake emails posing as technical support representatives of PayPal, Amazon and Norton, an official said on Friday.

Seven accused identified as Mohd Zafar Iqbal (28), Noor Hussain (28), Sumit (32), Abhishek Mishra (30), Shekh Ibrahim (28), Abhishek Gupta (35) and Mohd Adil (32) ACP (Cyber Crime) Vipin Ahlawat said, all the suspects have been arrested on charges framed under relevant sections of the IPC for illegally running a call center without any valid license.

The operator of the accused call center Mohammad Zafar Iqbal told that he does not have permission to run the call centre. For the last one month, he used to send toll free numbers through email to give refund of unauthorized charges of PayPal, Norton and Amazon to about 4,000 to 5,000 foreigners every day by taking flats on rent.
When any customer called the toll free number, he used to download the Anydesk app on their computer. After this, they used to take possession of his computer. To prevent them from knowing anything, they used to blacken the computer screen as well. During this, he used to show the amount in their bank accounts as increased, then charged them 250-300 dollars through gifts in the name of service. In this way, by misleading the customers, by making them buy gifts from Apple, Google Play etc., they used to secure their numbers with themselves. Later, they used to get similar or cheaper things from China with gift cards.
