A car traveling from the wrong side of the road hit a bike and an e-rickshaw in front of a petrol pump near Nawabganj Mandi on Sunday night, police said.
Police said Rajendra (40) and his wife Pushpa (40) were killed in the accident, while three others, including a motorcycle rider and two others on an e-rickshaw, were injured.
Police said the car was on its way towards Pilibhit when its driver, who was in an inebriated state, lost control and swerved to the other side of the road, leading to the accident. Bareilly Superintendent of Police (Country) Rajkumar Aggarwal said that the police have seized the car and started legal action.
