Uttar Pradesh: 4 including 2 children died as scorpio car collided with scooty in Lucknow

Lucknow: Four people, including husband-wife and two children, died in a horrific road accident near Gulchin Temple located in Vikas Nagar late on Tuesday night in the capital Lucknow. The high-speed Scorpio vehicle first hit the husband-wife and two children riding a scooty, then dragged them for 100 meters. Scorpio came to a halt after hitting the pillar.

Lucknow: Four people, including husband-wife and two children, died in a horrific road accident near Gulchin Temple located in Vikas Nagar late on Tuesday night in the capital Lucknow. The high-speed Scorpio vehicle first hit the husband-wife and two children riding a scooty, then dragged them for 100 meters. Scorpio came to a halt after hitting the pillar. The whole family died in this accident.

After the accident, there was a stampede among the people sleeping on the roadside. On the information of the accident, Inspector Vikas Nagar Shivanand Mishra reached with the police force. In a hurry, the couple and both the children trapped under the scooty were pulled out and sent to the trauma center of KGMU, where the doctors declared them all dead. Police identified on the basis of scooty number. The deceased scooty driver has been identified as Sitapur resident Ram Singh, his wife and two children.

Eyewitnesses told that the Scorpio coming from the crooked bridge hit the scooty 100 meters before the Gulchin temple. After which everyone including Scooty got trapped under Scorpio. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver drove away faster. After being dragged for about 100 metres, the Scorpio collided with a pole and stopped. During this, sparks were coming out due to the dragging of the scooty.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the road accident in Lucknow. Wishing peace to the departed soul, the Chief Minister expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.
