Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Takes Swift Action Following Tragic Deoria Killings

In the wake of the horrifying incident in Deoria, where six people were killed over a long-standing property dispute, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has swiftly taken action against officials, ordering the suspension of senior officers. The tragedy unfolded when news of Yadav’s murder triggered a violent retaliation from his supporters. Here’s a summary of the events and the Chief Minister’s response:

Chief Minister’s Orders:
Yogi Adityanath immediately suspended the Sub-District Magistrate and Area Officer of Rudrapur district. Additionally, he directed departmental action against former Sub Collector Ram Vilas, Om Prakash, Dhruv Shukla, and Sanjeev Kumar Upadhyay. The Chief Minister’s decision came in response to the officials’ inaction following complaints filed under the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) regarding the illegal occupation of village land by Satyaprakash Dubey, the victim of the mob attack.

Background of the Dispute:
The incident stemmed from a long-standing property dispute between the village strongman, Prem Yadav, and Satyaprakash Dubey in the Deoria district. Yadav was attempting to resolve their rivalry when he was attacked and killed by a woman at Dubey’s house. Subsequently, news of Yadav’s murder triggered a violent retaliation from his supporters. They stormed Dubey’s residence, resulting in the tragic deaths of Dubey, his wife Kiran Dubey, daughters Saloni and Nandani, and son Gandhi. Another son, Anmol (8), sustained critical injuries and was admitted to BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur.

Chief Minister’s Response:
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the injured Anmol at the hospital, expressing his concern and inquiring about the child’s well-being. Adityanath’s proactive measures included not only the suspension of officials directly involved but also a commitment to hold accountable those responsible for negligence in handling IGRS cases in the past.

The incident has prompted the Chief Minister to ensure swift justice and decisive action against the perpetrators, reflecting the government’s determination to maintain law and order in the state.
