Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a big gift to the mothers and sisters of the state on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. CM Yogi announced that on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Purnima ‘Raksha Bandhan’, the unique festival of brother-sister affection, there would be facility of free movement for mothers and sisters of the state in buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. “On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation should provide free travel facility in buses for the safe travel of all the women of the state,” tweeted the office of CM Yogi.
On this occasion, free bus service for women and sisters of UP will be available for 48 hours. The benefit of free bus service can be availed by mothers and sisters from 12 midnight of 10th August to 12 midnight of 12th August. The announcement comes with an aim to mark the `Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava`, and the free bus travel facility will be available to women across the state for a period of 48 hours.
Although every year the Yogi government provides free bus facility to women on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, but every year this facility is given only for 24 hours on the day of Raksha Bandhan, but this year women can avail free bus travel for two days. After the order of CM Yogi Adityanath, UP Transport Corporation can issue notification in this regard soon. It is worth noting that last year on the day of Raksha Bandhan, 3.5 lakh women took advantage of free bus on the day of Raksha Bandhan.
Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave a special gift to women. On this day women will be able to travel for free in all the buses of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation. On the instructions of CM Dhami, the women of the state will be provided with the facility of free bus travel in state transport buses.
