Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Meets Governor Amid Ministry Expansion Speculation

Lucknow: In the midst of growing speculations regarding an imminent expansion of his ministry, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with Governor Anandiben Patel at Raj Bhawan. The meeting took place on Tuesday and is seen as a significant development ahead of or after the Diwali celebrations.

Several individuals are believed to be aspiring for a ministerial position, with notable figures such as Om Prakash Rajbhar, the leader of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, and Dara Singh Chauhan, who recently joined the BJP after resigning as a Samajwadi Party MLA, being among the contenders.

Presently, there are eight vacancies in the council of ministers, which has a sanctioned strength of 60 members. Although an official spokesman has referred to the meeting as a courtesy call, there are indications that the Chief Minister and the Governor may have discussed preparations for the upcoming Deepotsav in Ayodhya, scheduled for November 11.

Additionally, Yogi Adityanath may have discussed his decision to convene a state cabinet meeting in Ayodhya on November 9. During the meeting, he also presented a book titled ‘Ved Rahasya’ to the Governor, further signifying the importance of their discussions.
