DIG Shalabh Mathur said that so far 11 people have been rescued and 8 people have died. Some people are still missing. The rescue operation is still ongoing. District Magistrate Manish Bansal said, the roof of a private cold storage chamber located on Islam Nagar Marg in May village of Chandausi police station area suddenly collapsed on Thursday. Attempts are being made to identify the dead.
According to Bansal, concrete and other construction materials have been removed from the debris and now work is being done to remove potato sacks. Superintendent of Police Chakresh Mishra said that 10 people injured in the accident have been admitted to the hospital, while some others are also expected to be buried in the debris.
SP Chakresh Mishra (Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh) said that an FIR has been registered against the owner, 2 named people. We have detained 4 people for questioning. The main accused is absconding and is being searched for. You will be able to tell the real reason for the collapse of this building only after the debris is removed. Relief and rescue work is still going on in the cold storage.
According to information, the roof of a part of AR Cold Store on Islam Nagar Road collapsed on Thursday morning. About 30 laborers were inside at that time. After several hours of struggle, 19 laborers were rescued, eight of whom died. Many laborers are still feared to be trapped.
Rohtash alias TT (28) resident of village Atol, Rakesh (30) of village Barrai and May resident of Ishtiaq (30) died. The identity of the two deceased has not been ascertained. Mahesh (30), Suraj (30), Kishori (26), Bhure (26) resident of Atol, Rammohan (32), Prem (27) resident of Kaithal, Manoj (28) resident of Barrai, Roop Singh (35), Arun (30 ) resident of Ramnagar, Rajendra (30) resident of Barrai are injured. The seriously injured have been admitted to TMU in Moradabad.
