Uttar Pradesh: Ex MLA Mukhtar Ansari sent to 2 years in prison for threatening jailer

The troubles of mafia Mukhtar Ansari are increasing. The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday convicted and sentenced former mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari to two years' imprisonment for threatening to kill the jailer.

Uttar Pradesh: The troubles of mafia Mukhtar Ansari are increasing. The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday convicted and sentenced former mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari to two years’ imprisonment for threatening to kill the jailer. A single bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh passed this order while allowing the appeal of the state government.

According to the case, in the year 2003, the then jailer of Lucknow, SK Awasthi, had filed a case against Ansari at the Alambagh police station, alleging that he was threatened with death if he ordered a search of people who had come to meet Mukhtar Ansari in jail. was given.

Awasthi had also alleged that Ansari had even pointed a pistol at him while abusing him. Ansari was acquitted by the trial court in this case, against whom the government had filed an appeal.

Earlier, according to ED sources, more than 100 benami properties and documents of suspicious cases have been found in the documents found here in the raids of Mukhtar and his close associates. The ED has also sent notices to the people involved in the raid. From Monday, these people have to present their side in front of ED.

Let us tell you that in July 2021, the ED had registered a case against Mukhtar under the Money Laundering Act and just before this raid, the Mafia, who was lodged in Banda Jail, also interrogated Mukhtar. It is believed that the raids and inquiries will increase further in the coming days.

Let us inform that recently the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the house of Mukhtar Ansari in Ghazipur. Raids were being conducted at Mukhtar Ansari’s family and his close ones. According to the information, the ED team raided three places in the district headquarters.

At the same time, raids were also conducted in Mohammadabad. The raid was also conducted at the district headquarters at the place of Vikram Agrahari, owner of Khan Bus Service, Ganesh Dutt Mishra. On the other hand, ED raids were also going on at the house of Mukhtar’s Bai Afzal Ansari in Delhi. Around 7 am, 8 to 10 ED officials had arrived in three vehicles.

Earlier in the last week of July, the Yogi government had taken action against the mafia and the relatives of former Mau MLA Mukhtar Ansari. The Mau police of UP had declared Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afsa Ansari, MLA son Abbas Ansari and brother-in-law as fugitives.
